Examples Of Alvarado's Representation's Ethnic Minorities

Bad Boys Trailer (1995)

This trailer gives multiple examples of dangerous representation of Black people as they are shown using guns getting into fights, as well as car chases which lead to running through buildings with intense close ups building tense atmosphere this along with the constant diegetic yelling of the characters gives a sense of chaos/anarchy making the main stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as a force of uncontrollable force of nature.
However the Black actors are represented with humour as they make fun of each others body count and complain and tease about the times they have shot suspects due to incompetence and even sing along to music while in a car creating a funny atmosphere in the hectic action. They also include a humourous representation of white people as the duo mimic a white persons voice and ask for some sugar mocking that white people as boring and dull.
Hispanic women as sexualised at the start of this clip when will smith wakes up with handcuffs on while in bed with one hispanic woman while another takes a shower implying that will Smiths character ha a sexual relationship with both women making them seem like objects due to them being objectified to show his characters sexual promiscuity using fragmentation and revealing costume and other Mise En Scene such as seductive body language and facial features.

Aladdin Trailer (1992)

Exotic representation of Arabian due to the use of traditional costumes linked to the setting with characters such as Princess Jasmine wear traditional Arab clothing such as Kraftan's and even a Burka during one scene and the males such as her father wear Turbans these items of clothing are traditional archetypes of Arabian culture due to there vast population being of Muslim heritage which these cloths are original from.
Representation of pity toward Arabians is shown as we see aladdin surrounded by slums and animals such as a monkey painting him as lesser than human due to having to eat with his monkey outside instead of inside with others along with the narration calling him a "boy from the streets" leaving the audience a instant assumption of lack of wealth/poverty which gains sympathy/pity from them.
