This magazine is for "The FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre" where they wish to "present diverse narratives and stunning pictures for Niagara film-goers"
The magazine cover takes "Sorry To Bother You" (2018)  poster and mimics it in its own colours of the Film House Magazine in order to attract modern audiences into reading it by using a modern film released same year as the magazine, also because of the film "Sorry To Bother You" is a political police surrounding the racial divide in perception of Black and White communities and will attract creative and open-minded people to the magazine where they can find similar student films being shown.

Double Page


The Double page uses a listing structure to give reader accurate dates and time the movies are being shown due to the magazine advertising the showing of these movies in the "The FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre" cinemas.
This page also provides a plot summary of the movies allowing the reader to look and get a general plot premise of the movies and debate which ones they want to see.
This design for the page is similar to that of a festival by including the list of thing going to be shown in a condensed format allowing for quick and optimal information picking for the viewer to decide which film is best for them. 



Part 2

  • The limitations of print magazines are that most people will either not buy them or not even see them due to the rise of easily accessible information online with UK consumer magazines lost nearly 1m print sales in first half of 2014.

  • Sales of the hundreds of paid-for weekly and monthly titles fell 4.4%  along with the promise with the growth in digital edition sales leaping 26% year on year more than 40% of UK consumer magazines now have one according to the "Guardian".

  • The biggest fallers of 2017 were: Look - 35.4%, Woman: -17.6%, Heat: -16.6% according to "Press Gazette".

  • In my opinion, print magazines are dying for the exchange of easier formats online due to being able to search for specific bits of data the reader wants to access instead of reading through information that they don't want.

Examples of Disability in the Media  Silver Linings Playbook (2012) Silver linings Playbook is about Pat Solantano (Bradley Cooper) after spending four years in a mental institution sparks a relationship with a widow called Tiffany (Jennifer Lawerence) as they both try to put there lives back together. Silver Linings uses mise-en-scene (M.E.S) to demonstrate disability/mental illness with the performances by Bradley Cooper as he lacks social skills and is very blunt and cold with his dialogue and tone with other characters and his relationships with characters like his father (Robert De Niro) being shown as judging his illness conveying him as an outsider. His positioning with other characters also paints him as isolated and as a victim to his disorder as he distances himself from characters. Btec Magazine Coursework Final Draft Unit 14 Lifestyle Magazine Creation and Analysis Wednesday 13th February 2019 Today I started the planning/scheduling for my magazine. I have already concluded that I will be doing a lifestyle magazine due to its use of references to pop culture and the film industry as it includes interviews from Hollywood actors and even the occasional intertextual reference depending on the magazine brand  however this was due to the fact that film magazines were not available to pick for our coursework which is a shame as I had been conceiving ideas for film magazines since the beginning of the course due to also taking film as a subject in A level, but this has caused me to adapt and change the concepts I had in my head as I attempt to make it fit into the genre of Lifestyle.
